The number of voters registered to vote abroad has doubled for the second round of the presidential election scheduled for Saturday.
During the initial round of the presidential election held on the 9th of this month, a total of 3,327 individuals had registered to vote from abroad. However, for the second round, 6,223 individuals have re-registered for overseas voting.
In addition to the Maldives, vote boxes will be placed in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the UAE, and the UK.
A total of 282,804 people, including 144,410 males and 138,394 females, are eligible to vote in the second round.
