Allowances for first round election officials to be disbursed this week

Allowances for officials who worked during the first round of the presidential election will be disbursed this week.

Ismail Habeeb, Vice President of the Elections Commission, announced on Twitter that allowances for trainers, coordinators, liaison officers, officials, and reserve officials who served at polling stations in Male' will be deposited this week.

“The work [of disbursing allowance] of the atolls section is also progressing fast,” Habeeb said.

More than 5,000 officials were recruited for the first round of the presidential election. An additional 200 officers have been recruited for the second round of elections scheduled for September 30. EC said the commission is fully prepared for the second round.
