According to the latest figures by the Elections Commission, 221,496 individuals have cast their vote in the second round of the presidential election as of 1600 hrs.
Out of the 282,804 eligible voters, which include 138,394 females and 144,410 males, the turnout stands at 78.32 percent as of 16:00 hrs, with 21.68 percent (61,308 individuals) yet to vote. In comparison, during the first round, the turnout was 79.85 percent when polls closed at 16:00 hrs. The polls are set to close at 17:00 hrs in this round.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, seeking re-election, earlier expressed his expectation of an 86 percent turnout, emphasizing that a turnout of 88 percent would secure his victory.
