The fifth floor of STELCO Building has been allocated for the work of the Office of the President-elect.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih instituted the 'Office of the President-elect' on Thursday. The office was established under the Presidential Transition Act, aiming to facilitate the President-elect in executing his duties and responsibilities during the government transition. The Transitional Spokesperson, Mohamed Firuzul, said the Office would officially begin its work today.
According to the law, the President-elect must appoint a person as the Director General of Transition to oversee the transition process. In this regard, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu appointed former Fonadhoo MP and the Chairperson of the Peoples' National Congress (PNC), Abdul Raheem Abdulla, for the position. Hussain Amir, the Secretary of Corporate Services, has also been appointed to oversee the transition process on behalf of the President's Office.
President-elect Dr.Muizzu's swearing-in ceremony will take place on November 17.
