A telethon organized by local media, titled "We are with Palestine," aimed at raising funds for The Gaza Emergency Relief Fund, successfully collected MVR 12.5 million on Tuesday.
The telethon was conducted in collaboration with the International Aid Campaign (IAC) and various media outlets. It raised MVR 12.5 million and US$8,300 between 10:00 am yesterday and 12:00 pm last night.
Some 4,000 Muslims in Gaza have been killed in Israel's attacks against Hamas. Recently, Israeli troops targeted and damaged a Gaza warehouse operated by the Maldivian-run International Aid Campaign (IAC).
