Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's sister, Fathmath 'Faathey' Mohamed Solih has been appointed as the Chief of Bureau of the Parliament Secretariat.
Speaking to AVAS, the Parliament's Director of Communications Hassan Ziyaau confirmed that Faathey was appointed to the post on Monday.
Faathey's appointment was made under the authority of the Speaker of Parliament to appoint staff for the Speaker's office.
Faathey, who started working in the President's Office in February 1986, has previously served as Secretary to Presidents Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and Abdullah Yameen. Faathey's most recent role was as the Presidential Secretary to President Solih in the preceding administration. She stepped down from her role in the President's Office at the conclusion of the previous administration.
