Ex-minister Zulfa appointed as LGA's CEO

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Dr. Mariyam Zulfa as the Chief Executive Officer at the Local Government Authority (LGA). The appointment was made this morning under the authority granted to the President by the Decentralisation Act.

Dr. Zulfa previously served as the Minister of Tourism. Prior to her new appointment, she served as a Board Member of the National Parks Advisory Council, Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Zulfa completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Curtin Business School at Curtin University in Australia. She completed a Master of Public and International Law (LLM) from the University of Melbourne in Australia, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Waikato University in New Zealand.

A former Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) member, Dr. Zulfa joined the ruling Peoples' National Congress (PNC) after the September presidential election.
