Former Managing Director of STELCO Hassan Mughunee has been appointed as Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)'s Deputy Managing Director.
On MTCC's website, Mughunee is currently listed as the Deputy Managing Director, alongside Mohamed Jamsheed. The exact date of Mughunee's appointment is not known.
Initially, the government attempted to nominate Mughunee as a member of the Privatization Board, but the board was reconstituted without his inclusion.
Mughunee previously served as the Managing Director of STELCO during the administrations of President Abdulla Yameen and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Brandies International Business School, Massachusetts, USA, and a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management and Marketing from HELP University College, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
