Maldivian seeks to lease Airbus to expand operations

The national airline, Maldivian is seeking to lease an Airbus aircraft.

Island Aviation Services Limited, which operates Maldivian, requires an Airbus A330-200 to broaden its international flight network. The aircraft will be leased for a five-year period.

According to Island Aviation, the aircraft must have economic and business class seats, with a minimum of 20 seats in business class.

Maldivian's announcement aligns with a recent Cabinet decision to bring in more aircraft for Maldivian to commence direct flights to key destinations from which a significant number of tourists travel to the Maldives.

Maldivian Airlines currently boasts a fleet of 22 aircraft, including seaplanes, Airbus 320 aircraft, ATR, and Dash flights.
