Aminath Hameed has been appointed as the Chairperson of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).
The Privatization Board handed over the letter of appointment to Aminath on Tuesday. This is the first time a woman has been appointed to the post.
Aminath Hameed brings a wealth of experience in business, economics, and corporate governance to her new role. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from the University of East London. She also holds a Master in Business Administration—Marketing from Charles Stuart University, Australia.
Aminath Hameed has previously served as Assistant Under Secretary, Assistant Director, and Deputy Director of Regional Airports. She was also a board member of Thilafushi Corporation Limited.
