V. Felidhoo's dredging will be among the top priorities of the government and the project will be launched this year, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said.
During a visit to the island, President Muizzu assured residents that the dredging would be according to the specifications outlined in the land use plan.
“The aim is to start the project within this year and complete it as soon as possible,” he said.
The president said the practical work of housing projects in different parts of the country will also commence this year. He outlined plans to introduce affordable housing loan schemes.
As part of the development plans for Felidhoo, the President announced that the classrooms and multipurpose hall to be built at the island school will be constructed as a four-story building, optimizing ground space. In addition, the island's hospital will be upgraded and a sports complex will be built as requested by the people, he said.
