President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has visited Dharubaaruge to inspect the ongoing efforts to relocate three ministries to the location after a fire destroyed their offices on Thursday.
The fire broke out at the Housing Ministry on Thursday morning and spread rapidly to the adjacent Construction Ministry before eventually reaching the Environment Ministry.
While the fire has suspended the operations of all three ministries, relocation efforts are now underway to shift their operations to Dharubaaruge. During the visit, the president viewed the efforts and provided additional instructions to complete the relocation process.
The Housing Ministry has said it is set to resume its operations from the new location starting Sunday.
