Efforts are underway to distribute textbooks for the upcoming academic year to schools across the Maldives.
An official of the Education Ministry said textbooks have already been dispatched to schools in some islands. These schools are already distributing the books to students, the official said.
While some schools are yet to receive their textbook shipments, the Education Ministry has assured them that the books will be delivered shortly.
Schools closed for the annual holiday on Tuesday. After the holidays, the new academic year will start on May 26.
