The Islamic Ministry has opened the opportunity for companies interested in taking groups to Umrah from the Maldives to submit proposals.
According to the Islamic Ministry, proposals can be submitted by companies that meet the requirements outlined in Article 5 of the Umrah Services Policy, which was officially gazetted in February 2022. The deadline for proposal submissions is May 16,
The Islamic Ministry has published a list of approved companies that are authorized to offer Umrah travel packages on its website. Despite the existence of a policy governing Umrah services, issues continue to crop up with Umrah services provided by companies.
