MIRA reports outstanding revenue of MVR 8.7 bln

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed that the state has an outstanding revenue figure MVR 8.7 billion as of the first quarter of this year.

According to the first quarter report released by the MIRA, this is the amount outstanding as of March 31 this year. This includes MVR 5.2 billion in tax revenue and MVR 3.5 billion in non-tax revenue.

The outstanding tax revenue amount includes MVR 2.3 billion in general GST and MVR 1.1 billion in tourism GST. Outstanding income tax amounts to MVR 911.8 million, with other sector taxes accounting for MVR 868.4 million. In addition, MVR 3.3 billion remains outstanding from tourism land rent and MVR 179.1 million from other non-tax sectors.
