Three people have been arrested for threatening and assaulting two plainclothes policemen.
According to Maldives Police Service, two officers were threatened at knifepoint around 10:00 pm on Saturday. Three local men aged 35, 39, and 39 have been arrested in connection to the incident, and have been remanded into custody for seven days.
Meanwhile, the Professional Standards Command is reviewing the arrests following complaints submitted regarding the conduct during the three men's arrest.
