State Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Abdulla Fairoosh has been reassigned as State Minister of Homeland Security.
Both the Higher Education Ministry and Homeland Security have confirmed the change. However, the reason for the change has not been disclosed.
Fairoosh, who has previously held senior police positions, retired from the police service in January 2021. He was the Assistant Commissioner of Police at the time. He was actively involved in the campaign of Maldives National Party (MNP) President Mohamed Nazim during the first round of the 2023 presidential election.
