Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage, Mohamed Saeed Moosa Wajudhee has been suspended.
According to sources, the suspension is due to an ongoing disciplinary investigation, though specific details remain undisclosed.
Including Wajudhee, there are eight Deputy Ministers and three State Ministers at the Heritage Ministry.
Wajudhee's suspension adds to the count of senior government officials under suspension. Earlier on Wednesday, Sports Ministry's Deputy Minister Hussain Shifaz was suspended, while three deputy ministers of the Youth Ministry, Mariyam Shiuna, Malsha Shareef as well as Mahzoom Majid have been under suspension since January this year.
