Chinese tourist numbers in Maldives cross 100,000

The number of Chinese tourists visiting the Maldives so far this year has reached 100,000.

The Maldives received 101,202 tourists from China, the country's largest tourist market, as of this Saturday. This accounts for 11.3 percent of the total tourists arrival which amounts to 895,764 so far this year.

The number of tourists visiting the Maldives so far this year increased by 10.2 percent compared to the same period last year. A total of 812,914 tourists visited the Maldives during the same period last year.

There are currently 174 resorts, 855 guesthouses, 149 safari vessels, and 15 hotels in the Maldives. These facilities provide a total of 62,254 beds.
