Two senior police officers have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
The newly appointed ACPs are Chief Superintendent of Police Ahmed Shifan, who serves as the Police Spokesperson, and Chief Superintendent Abdullah Shareef, who is the Head of Central Police Command.
Homeland Security Minister Ali Ihsan handed over the letters of promotion to the officers at a ceremony held at Islandhar Koshi.
According to the Police Act, the highest administrative promotion within the institution is the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police. The posts above ACP are Deputy Commissioner of Police and Commissioner of Police, both of which are positions appointed by the President.
