The price of diesel sold to fishermen in Hulhumale has been reduced to match the price sold at fuel sheds.
The decision came while local fishermen held a protest on Wednesday to voice their concerns. The protesters called on the government to fulfill its promise of providing affordable fuel.
The Fisheries Ministry Wednesday announced that, in line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's pledge, the price of diesel sold to fishermen In Hulhumale had been reduced to the same rate as those sold at fuel sheds.
The State Trading Organization (STO) had already reduced diesel prices last month. With this adjustment, diesel is now sold at MVR 13.92 per liter at Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM) stations.
