President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will be embarking on an official visit to New York City, USA, to attend the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 79).
This visit marks President Muizzu's inaugural official trip to the United Nations General Assembly since assuming office. The President will deliver remarks at the UN General Assembly and participate in a special open debate at the UN Security Council. This will also be the first time a Maldivian President participates in a debate at the UN Security Council.
According to the President’s Office, President Dr. Muizzu is also scheduled to attend the Summit of the Future on the sidelines of UNGA 79 and will also deliver a speech to students at Princeton University.
