PNC postpones internal elections

The ruling Peoples’ National Congress (PNC) has postponed its internal elections.

The election was originally scheduled for October 19. However, the PNC issued a statement on Friday stating that the election has been postponed to November 9 this year, following requests from those interested in contesting the election.

The PNC will elect constituency presidents, constituency vice-presidents, youth movement island presidents, women's movement island presidents, steering committee members and their elected positions. As a result of the postponement, the party has decided to offer additional time for those interested in contesting the election to submit their candidacy papers. Therefore, interested individuals can now send in their applications until October 24.

Only individuals who have signed up for the PNC by 6:00 PM on October 24 will be eligible to vote in the internal elections.
