Former Vice President Faisal Naseem has called for immediate reductions in government spending to address the Maldives' current economic difficulties.
Speaking at the MI College graduation ceremony on Friday, Faisal acknowledged that every country faces difficulties, and emphasized the importance of strategic planning to overcome these obstacles.
“Special attention should be paid to reducing costs and saving,” he stressed, referring to the Maldives' current situation.
Faisal said he was stressing the urgency of cost-cutting for the benefit of the people and future generations. He warned that failure to do so could lead to detrimental consequences for the nation.
At the ceremony, Faisal also advised students to lead by example, and reminded parents to be exemplary role models for their children.
