The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has appointed its first foreign CEO and Managing Director, Dr. Vitaliy Lyubimov.
MIFCO made this appointment following the cancellation of the initial job announcement and a subsequent re-advertisement.
Dr. Vitaliy Lyubimov is a Ukrainian national with over 20 years of experience in corporate operation and management. MIFCO said Libumov will officially assume his role on Tuesday.
The company has not shared details of Lyubimov's salary and benefits, stating that the information would be disclosed at a later time. However, according to the MIFCO announcement seeking a CEO, the salary range is between USD 9,500 to 12,000, depending on the experience of the selected candidate.
MIFCO is currently facing significant financial challenges, with debts exceeding MVR 1.2 billion. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has previously said an experienced foreign professional was being sought to lead MIFCO to prevent corruption within the company.
