Maldives Industrial Fishing Company (MIFCO)’s Chief Financial Officer Ilyas Haneef has resigned from the post.
MIFCO confirmed that Ilyas stepped down from his position last month. However, the reason for his resignation is unclear.
MIFCO said the CFO’s responsibilities are currently being filled by the company’s General Manager Hamid Nazeem.
When the Privatization Board was investigating MIFCO’s former CEO Ahmed Samaah Rasheed, Ilyas stepped in as the acting CEO during Samaah’s suspension. The government recently appointed a Ukrainian national, Dr Vitaly Lubimov as MIFCO’s new CEO.
