Mohamed Areesh has been elected as the new Deputy Mayor of the Male’ City Council.
The post of Deputy Mayor of Male’ City Council became vacant with the resignation of Ahmed Nareesh, who stepped down from his post as the Deputy Mayor and Council member.
At the council meeting held Sunday, Areesh was the only candidate who ran for Deputy Mayor. He was elected to the post with 16 votes in his favour.
