President Maumoon has been conferred as an honorary Fellow at Royal Institute Singapore, one of the highest honors awarded by the Institute.
The Fellowship was conferred to the former President in the Institution's Global Conference held today in Hotel Jen.
He was awarded the fellowship in recognition of the work he had carried out to develop the nation. This is the first time this was awarded to an individual from South East Asia region. Royal Institute recognizes the work carried out by individuals in various fields.
The Institute was formed in 1968.
