Popular diver Hussain Rasheed (Sendi) is scheduled to deliver the guest address at the Dive Resort Travel (DRT), one of the largest dive fairs in Asia.
The fair will be held from February 24- 26 in Singapore.
Speaking to Avas, Sendi, who is also the first PADI certified diver in the country, described this as a significant progress.
"They had invited me. Divers, resorts take part in the fair. Eight countries are taking part in this fair," Sendi said.
He said the Maldive is a preferred destination for many divers and that this was an excellent opportunity for marketing the destination.
"I believe that Maldives is the number one destination for divers. This is a great opportunity for the country," Sendi said.
DRT Fair is held to market the dive markets and resorts and has been held in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Philippines.
