Finance Minister Abdullah Jihad has said that some sections of the Ministry have been temporarily relocated as the construction of the new building has begun.
Speaking in a press conference today, Minister Jihad said due to the move, employees may face difficulties and urged them to exercise patience. He added that relocated sections will be shifted to the main premises of the Ministry.
"With the start of the new building some employees have been shifted. Some will face difficulties. I appeal to be patient, to assist in the project," Minister said.
The new 25 storey building will be constructed in the same premises of the Ministry. The project has been handed to a Malaysian company. The Ministry had estimated that US$ 123 million will be spent on the project. The contractor financed project is to be paid back over a period of 23 years.
