President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that his presidential mandate will be completed when Maldives became a nation similar to Dubai and Singapore.

Speaking in the closing ceremony held to mark the "Fahi 913", President Yameen said he wanted to make Maldives a developed nation like Singapore and that mega projects needed to be created in order to make this vision a reality.

"We are building the bridge, we're building the 25 storey Finance Ministry building. What we're talking about the major investments, marina development, airport terminal development, investors coming in the country with mega projects. If we want to make Maldives to a new Singapore, then the marina will have to be developed in Hulhumale'," the President said.

President Yameen said the marinas in Hulhumale' will be targeted towards the high end customers. He said his work would be completed when the nation became the most popular destination.

He added that his work would be completed when the public had reclaimed back faith in the justice system. The President revealed that the new terminal's groundwork will begin tomorrow and all the services will be completed once the terminal is completed.

"My work is not yet complete. My work will be completed once the airport and the country is the preferred destination. When my work is done, I want to compare the difference between the services given in the Maldives and Singapore, Dubai," he said.

President further said he wished to see major developments in education and health sectors, adding that he wished to see students achieve high results from reputed universities.
