India's Medical Tourism Forecast Report has shown that the number of Maldivians going to India for medical purposes and treatment has significantly dropped.
Previously Maldives was the second in the list of medical tourists. However, the number of Maldivians had significantly reduced, having been replaced by Afghanistan. Bangladhesh is the top market for Indian medical tourism.
The report shows that the number of Russians going to India had recorded the biggest change, with rapid increases from Nigeria, other African nations, Iraq and Middle East. Additionally, year on year increases had been reported from Germany, France and Canada.
The report had listed 63 nationalities that regularly seek treatment from India. USA is at the top, while Maldives is at 45.
