Sri Lankan media sources have reported that two Maldivians trafficking heroin in the country have been arrested.
Sri Lanka's Daily Mirror stated that the two were arrested today with 350 grams of heroin. Police said the detained suspects were agents of an international drug smuggling network and were arrested in Dhehivela.
No additional details had been given regarding the arrests. Maldives Police Service is yet to release a statement regarding the arrests.
Two months back, four Maldivians who had attempted to smuggle in three kilos of heroin were arrested in Sri Lanka as well.
