Three Maldivians have been arrested with drugs in neighbouring Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan new agencies have reported.
According to the reports, six people were arrested from Dehiwala city with four kilograms of heroin. They include three Maldivians between the ages of 26 and 28, said the report.
Two vehicles used by the group were also taken into police custody, it said, further revealing that the arrested individuals will be taken to Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court to be remanded into custody sometime today.
A large population of Maldivians reside in Sri Lanka.
