Economic Ministry to outsource some services

Economic Ministry has passed to outsource some of the business services provided by the Ministry.

Speaking in a press conference, Economic Ministry’s Registrar of Companies Mariyam Visam said though the services will be outsourced, the services will still be available in the Ministry. She said the services were outsourced to meet the demand and to ensure services will be provided without any disruption.

All outsourced services will be completed before August. Interested applicants now can apply to provide the service from today onward. Visam said the 13 areas of business services will be outsourced.

“Online service provision was not well received. This is why we’re bringing in the agent model. Even when the private sector offers some of the services, the Ministry will continue to provide the services. This will help increase the speed of service,” she said.

The service providers, such as law firms, audit firms and business consultancy firms can provide services via a portal as a business service agent.
