Sri Lankan Finance Minister Ravi Karunayake has praised President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom's economic agenda, stating that the agenda will propel the country's economy to a stable status.
He made the statement speaking in the ceremony held in Dharubaaruge to handover the construction of the 3000 housing units of he Sea Life Complex in Hulhumale' to Sri Lanka's Coral Holdings. Karunayake said the President's economic agenda was an example and that we have to accept the agenda. He pledged Sri Lanka's assistance in enuring that the agenda was carried out successfully.
"President Yameen's economic agenda is a well rounded agenda. It will power the economy into stable times," he said.
Karunayake said that at the time when President Yameen assumed power, the political status of the nation was in flux. But, he noted the situation was changing, with the country becoming more stable in the past years. The Minister said the situation in the Maldives mirrored that of Sri Lanka before the current Government came to power.
