Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar reveals that both India and Pakistan was willing to provide assistance to develop the military capabilities in the Maldives, noting that preparations to form an airforce was underway.
Speaking to PSM, Minister Adam Shareef said that India will donate three fighter jets and train personnel in aviation studies. He added that Pakistan will also donate two air craft under a credit facility. Minister Shareef said the Ministry will create the air force only after training locals in the field. He added that training opportunities will be opened this month.
