ATP, India partners up for SATA awards

SATA is the first awards held for tourism brands in South Asia region, addressing a major gap the region's travel and tour market. In spite of the fact that this is the first awards for the region, the awards are shaping up to be a standards setter in the region. Association of Professionals in Tourism (ATP, India) is the latest partner to sign up for the awards, giving an additional boost to the awards.

ATP India is the third largest tourism organization in India and one of the most influential ones in the region.

The awards will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka and is organized by High Rise.

Voting is now open for the awards and will close on October 5th. Over 200 parties have been nominated under 39 categories, which includes international brands as well.


SATA award will be given in 10 areas and 39 categories. In the Self Nomination sector, over 140 brands from Maldives are contesting for 30 categories. Island Hideaway, Jumeirah, Park Hyatt, Coco Collection, Villa Group, Sun Siyam, Adaaran, Constance, Aitken Spence, Lily Group, Kingsbury, Taj Samudra and Casa Collection are among the nominees. Six Judges from Maldives, Sri Lanka and India will preside over the awards.

SATA is the first Hospitality Award brand recognized by regional organizations including Federations of Chambers of Commerce in Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Colombo Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Confederation of Association Tour Operators (CATO, India), Association of Tourism Trade Organizations of India (ATTOI), Association of Travel Agents (ATA, Maldives) and Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM).
