The branch in Maldives will be managed by Silver Spoon company, which had managed Raanba Restaurant for the past 15 years. The restaurant will be opened in Hulhumale' mini shopping mall and will cater to 150 customers.

Silver Spoon's Director and Finance Ibrahim Naeem says they were able to bring the brand to the Maldives after hard work. He said teams from Malaysia and Singapore had conducted research in the Maldives to see if it was viable to open a branch.

There are several restaurants of the Manhattan Fish Market in Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh as well as Qatar, UAE, Oman, Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar.

The restaurant's menu will feature seafood items rarely found in Maldives. The fish will be imported from nations such as Vietnam and China. Naeem assured that quality in the local restaurant will be the same as restaurants in other countries.

Naeem added that poultry items will not be featured prominently on the menu; there will be only two items on the menu which includes chicken.

"Its one of the aims and hope to run an international brand restaurant, we're achieving this goal with hard work," Naeem said.

The restaurant will be opened on December 1. On the 8th of this month, employees will be chosen for the Manhattan Fish Market in Raanbaa Restaurant. While 40 employees will be chosen for the restaurant, Naeem said they will give priority to Maldivian youth.

Naeem said this is a golden opportunity for local youth, adding that they will be trained and certified for their jobs. So far, four employees have been trained.
