The best sacrifice would be one that is undertaken in service of the nation, its people and Islam, and there is no greater national duty or responsibility, President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom reminds to the Maldivian Military
The President mentioned this during his visit to the "Bandaara Koshi" today in attendance of the ceremony where members of the Maldivian National Defence Force who had completed the 62nd military training course were being sworn in.
The President and Commander in Chief of the military declared that the top objective of the military must be to defend Islam, the nation and its people, and to defend our right to self governing. He also said that it is the greatest duty and responsibility bestowed upon the military by our constitution. He instructed the military to protect the national harmony and to overcome and defend our nation from its adversaries.
He also said he would like to remind the members of the military that they have to respect their code of ethics, and that they have to follow their commanders perfectly. And the military must have highly disciplined members, as the constitution requires them to show a great deal of responsibility.
