The planned general assembly of Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) first called by the Party President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has been postponed. The session was called for the 31st of this month.
Abdul Aleem, the Secretary General appointed by President Maumoon's faction, today said they had been informed by the Ministry that Dharubaaruge was unavailable for the date. However, previously the venue was cleared for the date for the assembly.
Aleem said they had already made payments for the hire on last Thursday.
Aleem said a date and venue for the assembly will be announced later. The assembly was initially called to mark the fifth anniversary of the Party.
