The President of PPM Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom has appointed two Deputy Leaders for the party. They were appointed at a emergency Council meeting held at the PPM office by Maumoon.
The two appointed as Deputy Leaders are PPM council member, Aminath Nadira and Member of Parliament for Thulusdhoo Constituency, Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim (Waddey).
Along with the two Deputy Leaders, a Spokesperson was also appointed for PPM last night at the council meeting held by former President Maumoon. The new Spokesperson was announced as Member of Parliament for the Baarashu Constituency, Ibrahim Sujau.
Maumoon held a Council meeting last night while the Civil Court has ordered the management of the party to be handed over to the chief adviser of the party, President Abdulla Yameen. And while Elections Commission has also stated that they will be following the court ruling. Maumoon does not accept this ruling and is preparing to overturn this ruling.
Maumoon had removed Abdul Raheem Abdulla as the Deputy Leader of PPM without consulting with the Council.
