MIFCO fish carrying ship caught on fire

A ship carrying large amounts of fish for MIFCO, was caught on fire. The fire has now been extinguished. The ship that caught on fire belonged to the Marine Maldives Product (MMP), a subsidiary company of MIFCO.

The "Baros" was reported to be carrying 15 tons of fish on route to Thailand. The ship caught on fire while it was preparing to depart to Thailand today or tomorrow. The ship was anchored between Male' and Thilafushi at the time it caught on fire.

The fire on the ship has now been controlled. There have been no reports of any injures.
