Malaysian university to supervise IUM programs

Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) signed an agreement with International Islamic University of Malaysia to help supervise the IUM's post graduate courses as well as to provide expertise.

At the ceremony held at the IUM Saturday Dr Mohamed Shaheed Ali Saeed signed the agreement on behalf of IUM. Signing on behalf of the Malaysian University was the university's rector Dr Zaleha Kamarudin.

The two universities will conduct a research into halal products together, and will work to find means to ensure that the food produces is halal.The universities also plan on holding joint workshops and training programs to impart the results of their research.

Joint seminars and conferences are also set for the two universities, and students and staff of the IUM heading to the Malaysian university are set to receive discounts.

The staff of IUM will also receive help for the Malaysian university, and will provided with some extra training.
