The biography of former President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hussein Manik is set to release next Friday. This is the first such book to be released about his life.
Dr. Waheed's office said the book, which was written by journalist Mohamed Jameel, will be released at a special ceremony held in Hotel Jen this Friday. The 347 page book is set to be released both in hard and soft covers.
The book highlights on all aspects of Dr Waheed's life, from his youth to the time he spent studying, his entry into politics and the tough decisions he had to make during his tenure as the Vice-President and eventually President of the Maldives.
The biography also includes the opinions of Dr Waheed's companions and allies as well as his political opponents, and the book is set to include information about Dr Waheed previously unknown to the public.
The journalist who wrote Dr Waheed's biography has also previously written a biography name 'Orchid' on the life of the first Maldivian President, Mohamed Ameen Didi. He is also the Executive Editor of the Public Service Media.
The price of a hardcover copy of the biography published in Malaysia is MVR300. Softcover copies will be sold for MVR200 a book.
