Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) Thursday mandated online filing for general sector Goods and Services Tax (GST) for registered taxpayers with an annual turnover of MVR20 million or more.
The new regulation stipulates that registered tax payers must file for GST via the MIRA online portal 'MIRAconnect' for taxable periods beginning or after January 1 next year.
"Taxpayers who are not registered for MIRAconnect will be automatically registered for MIRAconnect and the account information will be sent to their registered e-mail addresses," a circular by MIRA read.
