Expat gets 10 years for child abuse

Fuvahmulak Magistrate Court has sentenced an expatriate worker to 10 years in prison after finding him guilty of sexually abusing a minor.

The convicted man, a Bangladesh National, named Mohamed Keron Hossein was sentenced on the December 28. He was charged with the crime in February of last year.

Even though the man denied the charges in court, he was sentenced for the crime after the court found that all the evidence and statements presented by the prosecution after the investigation proved that the man had been involved in a sexual act with a nine year old girl.
