Police have arrested the driver of the truck which had hit an expatriate worker on Monday in an accident in the reclaimed suburb Hulhumale.
Police had said the truck had lost control and hit the expat before crashing into a tree.
Hospital had said the victim remains in critical condition after suffering severe head trauma during the accident.
Police on Thursday said the truck driver, a 47 year old Bangladeshi nation had been taken into custody over the accident.
