According to Sri Lankan news agency News First, Sri Lankan Deputy Minister of Sports, HMM Haris stated that he will request for the aid of the Maldivian National Defense Force in the search for four fishermen who have gone missing.
The agency further informed that he was currently in the Maldives to arrange the travel of the two fisherman who had been already found. Two stranded Sri Lankan fishermen were rescued by the Maldivian coastguard after some local fishermen spotted them last Wednesday.
Six fishermen had departed from Sri Lanka on December 24 and had gone missing but only two have so far been found thus far.
