Special software to manage Maldives' first tourism fair

A specially designed software would manage the meetings of the Maldives' first travel fair slated to be held in July, organizers announced Wednesday.

After signing the agreement to name Avas as Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) media partner, the TTM organiser, Maldives Getaways CEO Dr Hussein Sunny explained that the software would arrange all the meetings during the fair.

"We can pre-arrange the meetings with this software. It would also contain the profiles of all the participating resorts," Sunny explained.

The software dubbed 'Connect' can pre-plan 5,000 sit-downs and also boasts the capability to host profiles, photos and videos of the resorts participating in the fair.

With the aim of bringing in 2 million tourists in the next four years and increasing the income of tourism to USD3.5 billion, the TTM fair is set to host 150 foreign and local travel agents, top officials of 100 resorts/ tourist hotels, along with 50 journalists and PR firms.

The TTM fair will be held from July 12-13 at the main convention centre 'Dharubaaruge' in the capital Male.
